Cute little place surrounded by a lot of other restaurants in Sierra Madre. Went for Brunch and got the banana split crepe. The size of the food is definitely worth the price! Their outdoor seating allows dogs, and the waiters are very friendly to pets :).
Located in the cozy downtown of Sierra Madre. There are street and public parking within walking distance. The shop itself is small but they have both indoor and outdoor seatings. The shop has cute decor. The service was good, the waitress was attentive. The food were served withinly timely manner. The curry and pesto crepes were scrumptious. Not too overwhelming of the sauce to cover the taste of the crepe but still has the essence. The white chicken meat was ever slightly on the dry side but it was tasty. The coffee wasn't impressive. As a brunch goer and a foodie should know. But I always order a cup of coffee to find out if they use some other magic coffee grounds; not in this case. Overall, the whole experience was above satisfying. It gets a 4.8 out of 5. Will return again!
What a special evening. My friend and I recently visited Monsieur Crêpe Cafe to enjoy their dinner menu and to listen to Chloe Perrier, a French jazz singer who performs at various venues around LA. How fortunate we were that she happened to be at the restaurant while we dined on some wonderfully delicious cuisine, including a refreshing gorgonzola and apple salad, comforting and absolutely stellar coq au vin, and a fantastic nutella/strawberry crepe for dessert. Each dish was bursting with flavor and we were in heaven enjoying each and every bite. Coupling an outstanding dinner with live jazz by Chloe was the epitome of a perfect evening. Service was excellent as well. I highly recommend this sweet cafe and if you go when Chloe is there, you're in for a special treat. Her music is delightful! Can't wait to go back to check out their lunch menu. Thank you for a memorable evening! The cafe is located in charming downtown Sierra Madre, which boasts plenty of cute shops, eateries, a playhouse, and a wonderful grocery (Taylor's Market) which sells the most amazing scones (they're frozen but you can bake them at home. They are fantastic!)
Yoooo!! How is it that I hadn't heard about this place before! I stopped by with a friend to celebrate her promotion. We read that they were also now serving dinner so figure it would be a great chill spot for it. The place is small but the service is friendly. We ordered a cheese plate to share, a bottle of wine dinner. I ordered the beef bourguignon that was a decent size and tasty too. We later decided to order a crepe for dessert and I sure am glad we did; after all, crepes are their thing! I would love to go back for just the dreamy crepe. By far one of the best ones I've ever had! The Suzette.. soo good, dont share! Buy one for yourself Parking was easy and near by, safe well lit lot.
Although a little bit pricey, the food is excellent, and the service is outstanding. This is a cute little café with great decor, indoor and outdoor tables, and a fantastic selection of crêpes for any pallet. I would definitely return.
Newly refurbished and refreshed, Monsieur Crêpe Café in wonderful downtown Sierra Madre is back and better than ever. Decided to stop in with a friend during the week to check out what was new. The inside decor is fabulously Parisian and wonderfully cozy. The staff is super friendly and amazingly attentive. Parking out front or in a back lot, but can be busy during peak Sierra Madre shopping times. Seating out front in a covered area, along with about a a dozen seats inside with air conditioning. On this trip, I decided to go with a speciality savory option, La Opera Specialty Breakfast Crêpe. Made with the more dense wheat dough, this offering is prepared with Eggs, Avocado, Onion, Tomato and Cheese, served with a side of Sour Cream. As with most savory crêpes, you should note that the dough texture is a bit thicker, but still soft and delicious. The ingredients were fresh, tasty and balanced. The sour cream spread on top of the crêpe is a nice, creamy touch. Not quite finished, my friend and I decided to split a sweet crêpe. We asked our server to ask the chef to prepare something to his liking, noting that we had no restrictions. A few moments later, our server presented a Bananas Foster Chef's Special, which was not on the menu. This crêpe was made with Banana, Homemade Candied Pecans, Homemade Caramel and Whipped Cream. After a few bites, I was immediately blown away by not only how delicious it was, but also that it wasn't super sweet (a big plus!). The chef then came out and asked what we thought, and with our mouths full, gave big smiles and thumbs up. After devouring everything, I was able to pull the chef aside later and tell him how wonderfully tasty this crêpe was, including the perfectly thin and light textured dough, balanced with the homemade caramel and candied nuts worked so well with the banana and the fresh whipped cream. It was five star, and I encouraged him to showcase it on the brunch menu. Undeniably fresh and delicious, Monsieur Crêpe Café is a great breakfast / brunch / lunch spot representing Parisian roots quite well in the heart of Sierra Madre. The staff goes next level to make sure you enjoy the experience from the moment you enter to after you live with full bellies, big smiles and positive vibes. A true gem of this neighborhood. Check it out!
This is a small store front store in the historic district of Sierra Madre similar to the other historic districts in the surrounding cities. There is street parking, a public lot down the street, and parking on the side streets. The people who work here offered friendly and efficient service. There is indoor and outdoor seating (see pic). The restaurant is small and so seating is limited, but they were deserted for breakfast on a weekend when we went in early. We got the make your own crepe and quiche lorraine. We got a strawberry, banana, and Nutella crepe with whipped cream (see pic). The crepe was good and comparable to similar restaurants elsewhere. Not many people make quiche any more. MCC's quiche seemed made on site and was definitely better than Costco's prepackaged offering. If you use lactaid, you will need it to eat the quiche. The flavor was good and unique, but the bottom crust was really hard in one spot only and could not be cut in the middle. It didn't seem burnt and we were not sure what the problem was. Otherwise it was good and we would try it again. Overall, a nice dining experience in a nice neighborhood. We recommend giving them a try.
